The Warfield, under 260 feet from Serif. This grand dame of a theatre is a beautiful addition to Mid-Market, offering a 2,300-seat live music venue which plays host to some of the hottest concerts in the Bay Area. The Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Korn, Slayer and Guns N Roses have all made appearances at this neighboring venue. The Warfield originally opened in 1922 and was built by showman and theatre chain owner Marcus Loew, who named the showplace after his old friend David Warfield, a native San Franciscan who began as an usher and grew to be one of the greatest silent film actors of his time.
